SOS Women’s Services has spoken to women in NSW about their experience with domestic violence. The result is Stories of Survival – Uncovering Domestic Violence in your Community.
Uncovering domestic violence in your community – SOS Women’s Services
The Safe Around Me app provides information on recognising domestic and family violence, safety planning ideas, and a location-aware list of local services. This is a FREE app.
SkillBot – skills for life, a new and exciting mobile phone app for young people is now available FREE. This is an app with a difference; it contains loads of information and advice to assist young
people navigating life’s ups and downs and transitioning to living independently.
Categories of the app are accommodation, money matters, relationships, jobs, general information, health and well being.
The topics are comprehensive and written in easy to language with links to official sites where necessary.
The crosses will be planted at the gardens followed by a minutes noise because we will not remain silent about domestic violence.

The concept of “non-violence” and “peaceful communities” will be demonstrated by floating lanterns in remembrance of victims of domestic violence. The event will be held as part of 16 days of activism to stop violence, which encompasses White Ribbon Day and World Peace Day.

SAYING NO: Representatives from Staying Home Leaving Violence Tahnee Austin and Caroline Long hold coasters that aim to raise awareness of domestic violence.

A Public Forum to raise awareness of the issue of violence against women will be held on Wednesday 23 November 2016 from 12.30pm at Bega Valley Commemorative Civic Centre.
The Forum will include presentations from Council’s Brighter Futures, South East Women and Children’s Service (SEWACS) and the Staying Home Leaving Violence Programs.
